Establishing Connection with Holo.Server

  1. Open the Holo.Draw app. You can effortlessly connect to any Holo.Server in your local network from the first screen.
  2. Use the toggle filter at the top of the screen, which includes options such as “All,” “Online,” and “Favorites,” to filter the list of available devices.
  3. The list of devices displays both auto-discovered devices and those manually added by the user.
  4. Auto-discovery simplifies the connection process by automatically detecting devices on your local network and placing them into the list.
  5. To manually add a device to the list, click the add button. This opens a dialog where you can enter details such as Device Name and IP Address.

Choosing Display

After successfully establishing a connection to the Holo.Server, the next step is to select the appropriate display one wants to share, paint on, or control.

This straightforward process involves a simple one-click action. Here’s how:

  1. With the Holo.Draw open and connect to the Holo.Server, a screen will display all available displays from the connected device.
  2. Each screen is represented as a preview image, allowing for easy visual identification.
  3. To proceed, simply click on the preview image of the desired display.
  4. With the appropriate display selected, Holo.Draw is ready for seamless sharing, painting, and control on the remote device.

Upon selecting the desired display and establishing a connection, the Holo.Draw interface will present an accurate representation of the remote display, accompanied by the Dock control: a central hub for remote device operation.

The Dock provides a versatile array of tools and options for interactive drawing:

  • Paint and Control Switch: The Dock incorporates a switch that seamlessly transitions between the “Paint” state (for drawing and annotations) and the “Control” state (for device control).

  • Undo and Redo buttons: The Dock features two buttons for undoing and redoing actions. These buttons are useful for correcting mistakes and restoring previous states.

  • Color Selection: To customize a drawing color, use two color buttons and a larger gradient circle. For an expanded color palette, simply press and hold a color button or click an already selected color button.

  • Tool Selection: Choose a preferred tool, such as the pen or eraser. For further customization, press and hold on the tool button or click an already selected tool. A popup panel will appear, allowing fine-tuning of the tool settings.

  • Geometric Shapes: Within the Dock’s menu, find options for drawing various geometric shapes, including rectangles, triangles, lines, circles, and arrows. Click on the respective button to select the desired shape and proceed with drawing.

  • Multitouch Gestures: Holo.Draw supports multitouch gestures such as zoom, rotate, and panning. These features enhance the precision and comfort of painting and annotating on the remote screen.

  • Menu Button: The main menu offers the following options:

  • Disconnect from the device.

  • Adjust the Dock’s orientation on the screen (top, left, right, bottom).

  • Choose a different display on Holo.Server (as previously explained).

  • Clear the entire screen to eliminate all annotations and drawings.

  • Reset Button: The Dock includes a “Reset” button. Clicking on it restores the viewport to its initial state, discarding any user-initiated zoom, rotation, or panning.

Controlling remote device with Holo.Draw

To access advanced control features, users can switch Holo.Draw to the Control mode by tapping on the “Paint and Control Switch” within the Dock.

This mode equips users with versatile capabilities for remote device control. Here’s an overview of the buttons and functions available.

  • Left Mouse Button: Simulates a left mouse button click on the remote device. This is useful for initiating actions and selections.

  • Right Mouse Button: Simulates a right mouse button click on the remote device, providing additional control options.

  • Virtual Mouse Stick: An integrated virtual stick facilitates the movement of the mouse cursor on the remote device’s screen, ensuring seamless navigation.

  • Virtual Keyboard Button: Activates a virtual keyboard. This feature enables text input and interaction with remote device.

  • Mouse Clicks Behavior Button: A dedicated button opens a menu to adjust click behavior during control mode.

This menu offers two options:

  • Disable Click: Selecting this option ensures that taps on the remote screen only position the mouse cursor on remote device, without initiating clicks.
  • Single Click: Selecting this option sends an additional virtual click alongside cursor placement.

Configuring Holo.Draw

On the main screen of the Holo.Draw app, the Settings section features options to customize the Holo.Draw.

  • Language: Choose application language from the available options.
  • Clock Format: Select either the 12-hour or 24-hour clock format.
  • Timeout: Adjust a network operation timeout value in seconds.
  • Default TCP Port: Set the default application port.
